Sunrise 2022

Well, 2022 has begun and what beautiful sunrises we have been having since the start of the year - well where we are on the Gare Loch.

I guess it's a kind of metaphor, well actually it is, as we see a new year in and hope that things will change for the better.

The last 2 years have been difficult, life-threatening and life-changing, and we have seen loved ones and friends sadly leave us, businesses go under, jobs lost, mental and physical wellbeing challenges have risen, money has got tighter all as this pandemic hit us hard.

It's difficult to be optimistic with all this going on however the biggest part of optimism is being able to start again, start fresh and learn from the past.

So with the sun rising on 2022 perhaps we should look hard at ourselves and let the past go as we seek new beginnings and new hope.

My mother is always telling me "there's always something round the corner" and I sarcastically used to reply "aye, an articulated lorry heading straight for me at 100 miles an hour".

So, a promise to myself for 2022 is to see that there is a road ahead round that corner, the sun is rising and there's space, greenery, fresh air, blue sky and HOPE.
