The Big Cell is the nickname given to the holding cell in Glasgow Sheriff Court and former District Court where people who have been charged are held whilst awaiting their appearance before the judge.
The Big Cell highlights the challenges of mental health and wellbeing during the process from being arrested to being brought before a judge to answer the charges. We hope to see change to the process and support to people's wellbeing during that process. If you would like to be involved, tell your story of going through the process or working in system we would like to hear from you.
